Drugs gang jailed after police shut down cannabis factory worth £100,000

The five men, who were arrested after a cannabis farm worth more than £100,000 was discovered by officers, were sentenced at Chester Crown Court on Friday to more than 17 years in jail.

Ryan Allwood, aged 21, of Elmham Walk, Manchester, was sentenced to two years in jail.

Daniel John also known as Daniel O’Brien, aged 28, of Clough Street, Manchester, and Peter Rule, aged 20, of Dalton Street, Manchester, were each sentenced to four years in prison.

The bookmaker, which has its head office in Birchwood, set unprecedented betting markets for last Thursday's two-hour TV election debate.

Students bounce their way to fitness

Boogie bounce is set to rival the likes of zumba and bokwa fitness classes with beauty therapy students at Warrington Collegiate becoming some of the first in the town to try it.

Following claims the new workout is up to three times more effective than floor aerobics and great for stimulating the immune system, boosting energy levels and busting stress levels, college sports maker Jordyn Layfield has introduced the choreographed mini trampoline classes to students at the Winwick Road college.

Cheshire Constabulary has confirmed that three people have been arrested - a 43-year-old man and two juveniles - after the fire broke out at about 2am this morning.

The roof of the main building had collapsed and a partial demolition of the building is being planned for later today.

More than 50 fire fighters and 12 engines were tackling the blaze but this has been reduced to seven and the fire is now under control and the smoke is dissapating.
